Americans have rallied to give an unprecedented amount of aid in the wake of Hurricane Katrina.

They have already pledged around $587million more than initial donations for 9/11 and the Asian tsunami - according to a newspaper that tracks charitable giving.

American lives are worth much more to Americans than normal human lives are. I would think that is a basic instinct to protect your own nationality but in America it is much more interesting because our “nationality” is made up of so many other nationalities, races, colors, cultures customs, etc…
